Here are a few things that must be included in your baby care products list:

Cotton Balls:

Initially, for the first few weeks, you would need cotton balls to dip in pain water to clean the baby’s skin. They are the best product to wipe the newborn baby’s eyes and nose.

Baby Oil:

Baby oil on a cotton ball will help you get rid of the crusty scalp condition and dryness. You can also massage your baby with baby oil every day before bedtime or in the morning.

Baby Wipes:

Look out for wipes that are hypo-allergenic and fragrance and alcohol-free.  They are the best product to wash hands and change diapers on the go.

Baby Bath Liquid/Soap/Shampoo:

A gentle baby wash or soap would be best for a baby wash. Keep a check on the ingredients and look for labels that are free of additives and fragrances. You can also ask your child’s pediatrician to suggest a brand.

Skincare Creams/Ointments:

Always buy this upon the pediatrician’s recommendation at least in the beginning. Find an ointment that works best for your little one.

Petroleum Jelly:

Petroleum jelly can be used to prevent rashes or dryness on the baby’s sensitive body parts or can be used as a lubricant to check the baby’s temperature rectally.

Baby Grooming Set:

Basic grooming set for babies which include scissors to chop teeny tiny nails, baby comb and brush, to detangle wet hair, all these products can be bought in one go. Purchase AVENT baby care general set for newborn babies and it will help you a lot with the baby grooming.

Baby Tubs:

Baby’s first baths are a complicated yet fun job. You must invest in a safe baby tub. Always look out for baby tubs which are:

  • Non-skid from the surface
  • Roundly edged
  • Easy to wash
  • Large enough for baby up to 4-5 months
  • Should support baby’s head and shoulders
  • Portable
