New Mom Stresses

Mothering is never automatic or inborn unless you got a lot of help from your siblings, parents or friend with babysitting. For a new parent, taking care of the baby is the toughest job.

The most common types of stresses for new moms are as under:

  • Extreme fatigue
  • Lack of experience
  • No more social life
  • Intrusive family and friends
  • Arguments with your spouse
  • Upsetting baby cries
  • Intense pain
  • Stinky barf stains on your clothes

As you become a mom, you step into a vulnerable psychological space. Being in the middle of an intense life turning moment, along with a colicky baby can surely increase the level of stress. The sum effect is that many women suffer from indistinct self-perceptions and impressions of anxiety and depression.

Once the new moms pass this full of pressure stage, you will feel that the bond is much more powerful and profound than before. Don’t hesitate to get any help that you can get in that time of need. Always be patient with your baby, your spouse and above all with yourself.
